2. Croat. (of a thing or phenomenon) nature; essence
   Spor je bio političke, a ne pravne naravi. — The dispute was of a political, not a legal, nature.

Of a person's character narav is used freely. For the nature or essence of things (sense 2), in Serbia: priroda — problem je tehničke prirode; narav in this sense is typical of Croatian usage.
