   Ovo dete ne miruje ni sekund. — This kid can't keep still for a second.
2. (of a patient) to rest; to stay in bed
   Doktor mi je rekao da mirujem nedelju dana. — The doctor told me to rest for a week.
3. (of a volcano, process, case) to be dormant; to be inactive
   Ovaj vulkan miruje već sto godina. — This volcano has been dormant for a hundred years.
   Postupak miruje dok sud ne dobije dokumente. — The proceedings are on hold until the court gets the documents.

The imperative miruj! is often said to children: "keep still!".
