   Usmerio je baterijsku lampu prema vratima. — He pointed the flashlight at the door.
   Policajac je usmerio saobraćaj na drugu ulicu. — The police officer directed the traffic to another street.
2. (of attention, efforts, funds) to direct; to channel
   Vlada je usmerila novac na obnovu škola. — The government channelled the money into renovating schools.
3. (of a person, their path) to steer; to guide
   Roditelji su ga usmerili ka medicini. — His parents steered him toward medicine.
4. (usmeriti se na + acc.) to focus on; to concentrate on
   Sada treba da se usmeriš na ispit. — Now you need to focus on the exam.

The direction is expressed with "na" + acc. or "ka/prema" + dat.
