   Deca su brojala unatrag od deset. — The children counted backwards from ten.
2. Croat. (of time) back; ago; over the past
   Cene rastu već godinama unatrag. — Prices have been rising for years now.
   Pogledaj izveštaje za tri meseca unatrag. — Look at the reports for the past three months.

In Serbia: unazad in both senses (dva koraka unazad, godinama unazad), and for direction also nazad; unatrag is typical of Croatian usage and rare in Serbia.
