1. Croat. (of giving birth) childbirth; delivery
   Porod je trajao skoro deset sati. — The delivery lasted almost ten hours.
   Lekari se boje prevremenog poroda. — The doctors are worried about premature birth.
2. (of people and animals) offspring; young
   Mačka uvek štiti svoj porod. — A cat always protects her young.
   Ostali su bez poroda. — They were left without offspring.

In the sense of childbirth this is Croatian usage; in Serbia: porođaj (prevremeni porođaj). In Serbia porod usually means offspring, children.
