2. (figurative) to experience; to get a taste of
   Tim je prvi put ove sezone okusio poraz. — The team tasted defeat for the first time this season.
   Kao mlad je okusio slavu. — He got a taste of fame when he was young.

In everyday speech probati is more common; don't confuse it with okušati se "to try one's hand at".
