4. (električna, nuklearna centrala) power station; power plant
   Stara električna centrala na Dorćolu danas je spomenik kulture. — The old power station in Dorćol is now a cultural monument.

In the meaning 'power station' centrala usually appears in phrases such as električna centrala, nuklearna centrala and in compounds like hidrocentrala, termocentrala; on its own, elektrana is the more usual word.
